If you're going to play it you better be ready to commit to it. Took me about 8 or 9 hours to finish it and that doesn't take into account how many times I died and had to watch the loading screen over and over. I can't say for sure if experiencing this story is worth all the hassle. There's a ton of effort put into the world and characters but simply getting around is such a constant pain in the ass. Though admittedly it does incentivise you to keep a close eye on your environment for traps and valuable tokens as you explore, but that's kind of the way I play all Bethesda games anyways. And just when you think you've hit a point where you're passed all the bullshit, it comes back with a vengeance. Navigating the Sierra Madre involves a whole lot of quick-saving followed by trial and error. Fallout New Vegas is full of different endings that players can achieve, but the Dead Money DLC introduces an ending that is the rarest in the game. It's kind of like Saw meets Bioshock, if your head blew up every few minutes. This is definitely not required, but it will help level you up. Stripped of your freedom, you are sent into what is essentially a giant deadly maze with limited resources and are forced to follow the orders of a huge asshole. As Dead Money was the first DLC released for the game, most players originally completed the DLC after at least doing the main quest of the original Fallout New Vegas. But I can't lie, it's kind of a bitch to play through.and that's completely by design. There's a good deal of atmosphere to take in and interesting characters to encounter.

The expansion raises the level cap from 30 to 35. It introduces new areas, enemies, NPCs, moral choices, perks, and achievements. I have to respect Obsidian for the ambition and experimentation this is so far removed from the main game that it's basically its own standalone experience.
